Sitting on my sofa, contemplating the day, I look out of the window at the grey sky and heavy rain! Rain Rain and more dreaded rain. I’m getting a little bored of scraping my hair back in an unimaginative ponytail but think to myself is it actually worth me blow drying and straightening my hair when it’s damp outside?? Well, if you’re sat at home thinking the same as me, the answer is yes, yes, yes! Emma the oracle at Richard John told me about two products. The first of which is Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Serum. This is a smoothing serum which helps to prevent frizz!! Oh the dreaded frizz! It will smooth and condition your hair whilst locking in shine and the unique complex pushes the water out of the hair from the inside, this means faster drying time!!! Hoorah for time saving products!!

The second product, also from Paul Mitchell is Heal Seal. This is an anti humidity styling spray that will protect against the elements as well as building body and adding shine. It also has thermal protection built in to prevent damage to your locks through heat styling. Spray into damp clean hair and blow dry! Its as easy as that!

All I ask of you is to remember your brolly! (as not even this could withstand someone effectively throwing a bucket of water over you!) Enjoy your rainy day with fab hair and a smile and remember, the more clouds in the sky, the more silver linings there are! xx

A New Addition to the Family….

I’m not talking the baby kind, I’m talking about the latest addition to the website..

As of April 1st Richard John.co.uk will have a new part to the blog….Product of the Month!

Its ok you don’t have to fall off your chair with excitement!! We just think its about time we showed you some of the products we have to offer in more depth, get a stylists opinion (if they’re not too busy!!) and generally be able to give you a proper lesson in how to use these products.

The reason for us to do this???

Well, lets be honest, we pick up the bottle because its our favourite colour or someone remotely influential has said and I quote “Oh Dahling, you must try this. Its the latest product don’t you know!!!” and thus, in sheep mode we see the shiny bottle on the shelf and go for it, with all the confidence of a first time sky diver! The tall, beautiful girl behind the desk takes one look at the bottle and says “are you ok with how to use this product? Of course we all answer “yes” because to answer no would be mortifying! Come on we’ve all done this!!

We are aiming to dispell some of this anxiety. We would really appreciate it if you could send us suggestions for products that maybe you have on the bathroom shelf that you’re too scared to pick up? Or products that people have told you to get but you’re not too sure about?

All you have to do is fill out the form on the contacts page and we will endeavour to answer them as quickly and as accurately as possible!! Thank you xx

Are you unbalanced???

No, I don’t mean psychologically unhinged, I mean your hair! Are your roots oily and your ends dry? Have you tried every combination and nothing seems to work? Are you sick of having to wash your hair every single day in a last ditched attempt to keep it looking clean? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, as I have, then I have the product for you!! It comes in a tall white bottle and goes by the name of The Wash786_wash_10_14_oz323333                                       It’s a shampoo from Paul Mitchell and in my opinion, an unsung hero! The Wash is a re-balancing shampoo that draws the excess moisture from your roots and replenishes the ends. It’s great for everyday use however the technology behind it means that you don’t need to wash your hair everyday, which I feel is a lifesaver(you know, dinner with friends the night before and maybe im_treatment_6_8_oz489999a few drinks, then the alarm miraculously turns itself off!)

If the ends of your hair still need a little attention the the perfect compliment is the Instant Moisture Daily Treatment. This is a moisture injection for your ends. One important piece of advice (and apologies for possibly sounding patronising). When using conditioner, make sure you only use it on the mid-lengths and ends of the hair as conditioner is way too heavy for roots!! Enjoy feeling balanced!! xx
