Getting the Celebrity Look

Ah, the celebrity hairstyle – nothing short of amazing and glamorous – not surprising when you consider they usually have a gaggle of hair and make up artists behind the scenes constantly coiffuring their barnets for them!

If you’re like us, you’re constantly flicking through magazines, wishing your hair looked as good as the celebs and wondering whether getting up three hours early every morning before work or the school run, just to preen your hair into shape would be worth it in the long run? Hmmm. Not tempting!

Trouble is, most of the time we’re probably wishing for the impossible anyway. It’s far too easy to yearn for a style or look from a celebrity photo without even considering whether it would work for us individually. So before you sprint down to your local salon begging for the latest Jennifer Aniston style, try to bear a few things in mind:

  1. Do you have the same face shape as the celeb? Face shape can dictate whether you can carry off your new look!
  2. What about texture? Do you think you have the same texture as the celeb, ie fine, coarse, curly etc? Hair cuts work differently on different textures so you may get the cut right but will it look the way you’re hoping it will?
  3. Do you want to get into hair extensions? Quite often celeb hairstyles are enhanced with hair extensions to create volume, length and colour. Extensions quite often mean you can achieve a hairstyle your own hair isn’t capable of so bear in mind this may be your best course of action.

So when trying to get that celebrity look remember to ask your stylist exactly what will work for you – all the stylists at Richard John are trained to evaluate face shape and hair texture so they can advise you correctly about which look is right for you. Consultations are complimentary so why not pop in to talk to one of our professionals?
